Having traveled through North and South America, the first thing that struck me about Colombia was the warmth and friendliness of the people.
12:12 has done a great job by partnering that warmth with a super chic setup and top of the line facilities. This was by far the most comfortable bed, best shower and most elaborate kitchen I’d encountered since leaving my apartment in San Francisco 6 months ago, and at very reasonable rates too. In the image of the ever-smiling and ever-available owner, Maria, the hostel and staff go above and beyond in welcoming backpackers and helping them explore Bogotá and Colombia. I doubt it was a coincidence that so many weary travelers ended up extending their stays here. Maria is now a friend, and there is no doubt where I or my friends will stay when in Bogotá. This is a hostel to and for travelers.
